Arkansas Democrat Hallie Shoffner’s fundraising declines as she faces criticism for donating to Kamala Harris 25 times
Arkansas Democratic Senate nominee Hallie Shoffner is showing signs of fundraising weakness as her campaign faces renewed scrutiny over her past fanatical support for former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Shoffner raised $352,274.36 in the first quarter of 2026, a drop from her prior quarter’s report in 2025 and a steep decline from $663,000 in the first quarter of that year. Notably, more than $209,830 of her most recent haul was raised by February 11, indicating a substantial slowdown in momentum as the quarter progressed.
Shoffner’s declining performance is noteworthy and contrasts with other Senate Democratic candidates across the country who have drastically increased their fundraising with record numbers in Texas, Alaska, Nebraska, North Carolina, and other states.
The fundraising dip comes as Shoffner is under fire for donating to Harris more than 25 times, a record she has acknowledged. In a statement, Shoffner said the donations reflected her support for Harris, reinforcing her ties to national Democrats.
That tension has become more pronounced in recent weeks. According to reporting by the Washington Examiner, Shoffner has tried to distance herself from Harris, including declining to attend a high-profile Democratic event in Arkansas where the former vice president is scheduled to speak. Arkansas Republicans have said it is laughable that Hallie Shoffner wants to distance herself from Kamala Harris after donating to her 25 times.
The dynamic underscores the challenge facing Shoffner as she runs in a state where Democrats have not won a Senate race in over a decade and where Republican incumbent Sen. Tom Cotton remains heavily favored.
A Republican political operative told the Arkansas Reporter, “It’s no surprise that Shoffner is struggling to raise money now that Arkansas has learned Shoffner is a 25-time Kamala Harris donor.”
